Speaking about various aspects of leadership, Jonathan further expressed gratitude for the opportunity to speak at the same Howard University where Nigeria’s first president, Nnamdi Azikiwe, studied.
The ex-president described Africa as the “bright continent”, stressing that stability and good governance are key factors for peace and development on the continent.
Earlier this week, Jonathan took part in the event named “Presidential elections and democratic consolidation in Africa: Case studies on Nigeria and Tanzania.”
In his speech, the former Nigerian leader said that “democracy is being institutionalized in Africa” at a step which guarantees that the continent would be rid of ongoing electoral problems within the next months.
